Our response to COVID-19

March 14, 2020 | Latest News

We are in the business of keeping seniors safe and comfortable in their own homes. All of our caregivers take pride in their vocation and feel duty-bound to provide the best care to our clients in the safest way possible. We have implemented guidelines for our caregivers regarding the recent COVID-19 outbreak to assure that we are doing our part to prevent the spread of the virus. We are taking extra precautions so we can continue to keep our seniors safe at home. We also hope everyone else out there is taking a little extra care so we can mitigate the spread of the virus... we owe it to each other!

Things to Do to Protect Yourself from COVID-19 Virus

Wash your hands frequently.
To kill viruses that may be present on your hands, wash them thoroughly and frequently using an alcohol-based hand rub. You can also use soap and water. You may keep a hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol) in case soap and water, and alcohol are not readily available.

Keep your surroundings clean.
Clean and disinfect your home and workspace. Focus on the surfaces that are often touched by other people: keyboards, countertops, tables, faucets, and others.

Keep social distancing in mind.
Avoid getting out. If you have nothing important to do outside, stay at home. Otherwise, keep a distance of at least 3 feet to the person next to you, particularly if he/she sneezes or coughs. The tiny liquid droplets—and the COVID-19 virus from the person who has it—when breathed may result in you getting infected as well.

Keep your hands off of your eyes, nose, and mouth as much as possible.
Avoid touching surfaces, especially when you are in a public space. Avoid shaking people’s hands. Greet people by nodding, bowing or waving. Your hands can pick up viruses and can get contaminated. When you touch your eyes, nose, and mouth, the virus can, therefore, enter your body and eventually make you sick.

Cover your mouth and nose whenever you cough or sneeze.
Make sure to cover your mouth and nose whenever you cough or sneeze. Dispose of the tissue you used properly to avoid contamination. In case you have no tissue, you may use the inside of your elbow.

Stay at home if you feel sick.
Do you have a fever and cough? Do you experience difficulty in breathing? Get medical help. Call a clinic or hospital nearby or your local health authority and ask for guidance on the next thing to do. This prevents the spread of the COVID-19 virus in case you are already infected with it.

Wear a facemask only if you are sick or you are caring for a sick person.
Always wear a facemask if you are sick and you are around other people. Or, if the
sick person you are caring for
has difficulty breathing
using a facemask, be the
one to wear it so you can
protect yourself.

Keep safe!
